Is there two different carbs for automatic and standard transmissions? Im looking at buying one and it says its for a standard transmission.

I'll take a guess at this one... The auto carb would have a lever for the kickdown rod/cable.

Automatic tranny carburetors usually have dashpots which prevent stall-out by the tranny by keeping the throttle plate from closing suddenly when de-accelerating.

Actually the manual tranny carbs usually get the dash pot so it cracks the throttle plates open in the case of a 'high load' and no throttle situation (i.e in gear coasting down a steep hill), which would lean the engine out with high vaccuum and little gas (idle circuit engaged not the mains).

The auto tranny Holley 1945's are similar to the auto tranny carbs as the linkage hooks up in the same location as long as you have all the linkage from your car...
