I went to the machine shop this week i'm puting together my plan. The parts man there told me he had forged pistons for my 225 he did'nt say what brand guessed at the comp. to be about 9to1 they were taller. Would'nt this be better than milling? If after adding up the comp if I needed a little more I could mill less from head keep my bigger valves away from block and not have to buy special pushrods pistons are 55.84 each (forged) there pricing cast pistons at about 30.00 so take away milling cost and pushrods cost would'nt this be the way to go? Wonder what brand pistons this would be any one know who makes these pistons? So far i'm thinking .60 bore 1.785 and 1.46 ford valves edelbrock 600 because I have it offey intake mp header mp 175 torq not sure of cam yet .

speed pro pistons are about 280 a set for forged .060 over first bush the rods, then resize them . new rod bolts index the crank then check the deck . make sure that your crankshaft centerline is straight.then see what your deck is. then make a descision after you have done that. a 115 deck and a 54 cc head w/ .015 gasket gives about 9.5 to one

Taller piston means more weight. If you dont want to mill go with a long rod short piston. look at the stroking artical.
