Looking into making a daily driven 3 season car with a /6 I balanced and blueprinted years ago and it was in the Duster I drove to school back in the day........

So I have a nice tight low mileage /6 and I am interested in EFI and turbocharging the engine any good pointers or members pages to read about good bad indifferent ways to make a good power when wanted great mpg little A body deal out of this /6?

Any advice is appreciated. I have been reading a little about the Dart of Sam Powells and an Aussie EFI conversion here on the site.

I would like to know how the 5 speed conversion went in Sams Dart as well.

Thanks in advance for any and all advice

Read both Bob Dibiase's articles here on the forum about both EFI and turbo charging. Then start searching and reading the EFI posts here on the forum. This EFI section is fairly new, and thus not as extensive as the other sections.

Go to Megamanual.com and start reading.

Keep in mind that posts on a forum tend to highlight problems, as that is what typicaly prompts members to post questions. Don't let the "problem" bias of the information discourage you.

Two very important things to think about:

1. The electrical system in an old car is likely NOT up to the standards of EFI. It is barely up to standards for an old carbureted car. You would be advised to upgrade all the pirmary ignition wiring from the battery through to the coil at a minimum, including the ignition switch and the ammeter.

2. YOu are advised to replace the entire fuel system with a new gas tank, and plumbing. You can make it work with the old, but it will not work as well as when you have a modern in-tank pump.

If you do not do these things, you will be chasing down in stability and inconsistencies in the EFI tuning that ultimately are traceable back to unstable fuel pressure, and unstable voltage.

If you read all my posts here you will experience the heartache I endured trying to tune my car before I did these things. The basics really need to be right, and are more critical in an EFI controlled engine.

Sam
