The last time we did this a few years ago on my son Aaron's Dart Sport, we bought most of the seals and weatherstripping from Hardens Muscle Car World. The roof rail seals (at tops of door windows) are stowed away in the garage because they just simply would not work. Maybe it was a bad run that day at the factory - I don't know. Everything else worked out just fine.

I know it wasn't Hardens fault, and their prices at that time seemed reasonable, but I was wanting to find out where most of you have gotten your door seals, and if you can speak on their quality and affordability? These would be for a '74 Duster we are working on now.

Thanks for any input,
Jerry

First let me say I dont have an answer, but I recently bought some weatherstrip for the doors of my 77 pickup from the "weatherstripstore" off of e-bay and its not right. I also got a window channel w/ the cat wiskers that fit great. after trying to adjust the doors and input from other dodge truck guru's the general consensus is its just a bad product. the weatherstrip was made by "precision" as was the door channel kits that did work.

I'm currently in the same situation as you. I don't know who to buy from yet. But I thought I would steer you away from that seller and product company. One of their products worked but another didn't. I'm not knocking them completely, but like you, I have big long rubber strips put to the side that I cant use.

Hey guys...Year One has door opening weatherstrips for the 73-76 2-door A-body models and I have bought some of theirs for a 71 b-body that fit like they were made for the car cause they were, lol
Their part number is cc7376. They even have the clips to mount'em with.
The roof rail strips is part # aw774 for the "pop-out" rear window models
I've always liked YO as their products and service has always been top-notch for me.

Any other input on this from the experts? I'm going to be replacing just about all rubber this winter as we repaint the car. Looking to purchase the following for starters. Will worry about window channel/sweeper later.

For a 63 Valiant 2dr Sedan

front windshield seal and lockstrip
rear window seal and locktrip
door seal windlacing
trunk seal

Any further input on sources would be greatly appreciated. I've found the following but obviously don't know if the prices are reasonable or if the quality is good.

Gary Goers, 37 Amdahl Ln., Kalispell, MT, 59901. Send him $6 (don't argue, it is TOTALLY worth it) and request a catalogue. Have some patience with him, he is only one man making and providing parts nobody else does. And his stuff is top-quality, too. He makes a bunch of the "impossible" parts for your '63.

Another very good source from which to request a catalogue is REM Automotive, http://remautoinc.com . Call 'em up and ask for catalogue sheets applicable to your car.

Oldmoparts (Andy Bernbaum) is a reputable supplier. So is Jack's Auto Parts and Dante's Parts. Stay away from Jim's Auto Parts; they've a terrible reputation. Same goes for Layson's and Mitchell.
