Post subject: # 4 rod bearing
PostPosted: Tue Feb 19, 2002 5:59 pm
Hey guys I just found the spun bearing in the # 4 rod. I am going to just replace it and put the motor back in. The crank is fine I had the michinist take a look and he oked it. I am still building a new motor and a head for the dart but I will take my time doing it.

Andrew,
While you are in there, I would suggest installing full groove main bearings. It will help the rod bearings to live.

Make sure to measure the connecting rod, replace it if the big-end of the rod is out of round or beat-up.
Rods get knocked out of round pretty easily so check them closely.

 Post subject: tug a war
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2002 4:52 pm
I got into a tug a war with my self and I think I should just wait for the new built engine. I go back and forth with this think I just have to be patient and do it right. THis way I will have a back up if I need it. My car just got degreased today and will be painted over the weekend. I also ordered a costom grind cam and valve springs from comp cams I will post the spec. soon.
thanks guys!!!
