I addeed a super six intake on a 1980 Volare. I have a part throttle flat spot that I am chasing down. The BBD manual I downloaded from the sticky refers to the service manual for the Accelerator Pump Shaft Height. You could not get a 2 bbl in an 1980 car so my service menual does not have this spec. I have been using 78 or 79 for my references can anyone help me out with this measurement.
Thanks
Scott

Carburetor operation and repair manuals (and some training movies) are posted here for free download. The BBD material is very detailed and extensive.

Thanks,
Reed it looks like its 15/32 or 1/2 inch.
I will check the metering rods too.

Dan I downloaed the BBD manual that is the one that refered to the service manual for the spec.

Thanks Again
Scott

Thanks for the advice.
I set everything according to spec. The metering rods were off as well as the accelerator pump adjustment.
She starts and runs much better now.
I still have some fine tuning to do but it is going well.
Now I have to hook up the carb hot air duct.

Nope not one that covers a 2bbl.

"You could not get a 2 bbl in an 1980 car so my service manual does not have this spec. I have been using 78 or 79 for my references can anyone help me out with this measurement."

The link that Reed posted had the correct specs.
Having the manuals available for download was as great,
The six cyl specific one was particularity useful in sorting this out
Thanks again.
