I need a shift lever retainer for my NP435. My Dodge dealer claims ANYTHING for a 1985 is obsolete and unavailable - at least through him. Any suggestions?

Did you try searching Google for "NP435 parts"? This was the first hit.

Yeah, I tried a couple - Not in Stock - No date to fill. Good news though! Called a local shop and got the last kit - $22! Steep but worth it!

Appreciated the suggestion.

The dealer is being lazy. Tell him to look up a NP-435 in a later year.

or go to a different dealer where they wont give you the evil eye when you ask for something at the parts department pre 1981.
