i have the new head/copper gasket/block assembled. my concern is that the adjuster screws are now showing 4 tread below the rocker. it seem a little to much compared to the 1 tread on the steel shim/ .080 cut head i was running be for, has anybody had any trouble running the adj screws out this far?

As long as the pushrods don't touch anything you can get away with long screws but you give away some valve motion when the pushrod moves in an arc.

yes that is another concern, i don`t want to lose any lift along with the possible breakage. i was checking online, smith brother in oregon, make custom pushrods, anybody heard of them? their prices seem reasonable.

Smith Bros are fast accurate and they ship to Canada no problem.

I got mine via post and it was 4 days.

They want to know exactly how long you want them.

In a blown race motor I would step up to 3/8" Never know how much you're leaving on the table to pushrod flex.

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/28 ... good-times will i order the pushrods from smith brothers, they said i need .083 wall 5/16 rods good to 700lbs spring pressure, because of the lenght (10.150ins). i couldn`t wait 10 days so i stayed up until 1am last night and had her ready to fire this morning, it sounds so good to have fire in the hole again, just hope all the tuning last year is close enough not to hurt it before i get going.i put a few pits in a new album just the things i fixed.
