I'm converting the ball and trunion joint to a spicer on my '64 Valiant, and also going to a bigger u-joint to match my new 8-3/4 rearend, but I have a couple of questions.

With the rear wheels on the ground and the front end jacked, I measured the dimension between the center of the rear u-joint and the flat surface of the transmission to be 52-1/2". If I have them make a new driveshaft 51-1/2" with the slip-joint seated, will that allow enough movement, or should I plan for more than 1" travel?

Will the 3" tube from the old driveshaft work with the new parts?

The yoke on the 8-3/4 measures 3-1/4". Does anyone know the correct u-joint for that yoke?

My apologies if these are previously answered questions, but I still can't get the search function to work.

The only question I can answer is the 3" tube will be fine.
