I am going to turbo my Duster with a 225/4-spd-OD.
So im still not sure in a few areas.

-I remember hearing that a BB Mopar fuel pump will fit the slant if i swap the slant arm into the the BB pump, is this true? I think i would feel better having a boost refrenced BB pump, this way i could have 3/8 line the whole way.

-Is the MSD BTM absolutely necessary? If i retard the timing 5-7 degrees will i be ok?

-Should i keep my dual 2" Flowmater exhaust, and run a y-pipe into the turbo, or sell it and run a single 3" into a Magnaflow muffler, with dual 2.5" outlets? The flowmasters are a little too loud actually, i dont want to get negative attention from the law enforcement:)

Thanks, Tom B

I tried this, but after getting the fuel pump off and taking a look at them it looked like a bit more work than I wanted. So I just put an electric pump with a boost referenced pressure regulator on there instead. It certainly appears possible, but I wasn't sure how to remove the pin that was holding the arm in place easily; the only thing I could think of was drilling it out. If you want the BB fuel pump, I could sell you the brand new one I bought for the conversion.

I've heard of turbo setups being done without a pressure retard, but the BTM will be helpful in making more power than with no system to retard timing under boost.

I don't have flowbench data for the Flowmasters or Magnaflow, but I'm guessing two mufflers will be better than one, and the Flowmasters should certainly work. If the Magnaflow is a good straight through design, chances are neither muffler setup will offer a performance gain.

I went this route myself, but I'm a little disapointed with the results. Next week I'm installing a Carter electric pump with a NOS vacume/boost refrenced regulator. My fuel pressure is a little weak at idle when I first start the car, takes about half a minute to come up, and I seem to run out of pressure at about 80 mph if I jump on it.

I did the turbo first without the MSD BTM. About a month later I added it. Huge differance all the way around! (especially at low rpm)

A turbo has a good deal of muffler efect on the exhaust. I ended up just doing 2 1/2" single pipe with a large stainless steel resonator off of a Mitabitchy. You'll probably be OK with the Flomasters.

I ran a flowmaster on mine for a while. It works fine and I really liked the sound, but a straight thru muffler is the way to go with a turbo car. I also have the msd btm and I would not be with out one!
