This message is for all the Slant Six owners of America. Clifford Performance has been in business for 34 years and will remain for the next 100 years or as long as the Slant Six want us.

Mr. Clifford loved his work with all the Slant Six people so much that he worked very hard to bring you the Hyper-Pak, Headers, and a full range of camshafts, Hyd. and Mechanical, and his own Aluminum Intake manifolds for street and strip.

In December we lost Mr. Clifford to sudden Heart Attack while driving home after work. Since then we have gone through many transitions here at Clifford Performance.

We now have a goal and that is to serve Six Cyl. owners and continue the research and development of Clifford Performance. We still have all the research and blueprint department that helped Jack Clifford win 2 NHRA Drag Racing World Records. We are sitting on the phones all day long talking to people just like yourself about how to make the most power a torque out of each situation.

We have the greatest equipment in the World and we will continue to make them even better. For information on your Mopar go into www.cliffordperformance.com and click on to the data sheets.

When I came home from the Army in 1971, my welcome home present was a 1965 Mopar Slant Six. Up to that point I had not even thought about anything but my guitar and his daughter Christine. I have to tell you that with his headers, intake and 276 duration camshaft, carbureted with the 465 Holley, and head milled .100 I had so much fun racing from light to light that I asked the old guy for a job. I worked for him for 2 years and returned to college.

I have worked on and off for the past 34 years and full time for the past 9 years. Now Christine and I will continue the Clifford Performance Manufacturing Company.
New products are a must so we have in testing right now a new Fuel Injection Unit that we hope will impress you as much as it has our research department (for under $2,000.00 w/ Intake Manifold Harness, Computer, Fuel Rail, 1/2 U turn Ram,1,000 CFM custom made Throttle body, and injectors). The dyno tests are yet to come so watch Mopar Magazine and our web site for updates.

Also new is the Adaptor 08-1044 made for the Weber 40 IDF carb, 430 CFM, & 44 IDF2 brl carb, 530 CFM. The 44 IDF will give your Slant Six Smoother acceleration and more power and torque than you have ever seen up to this point.

Our Forum is down right now but in the near future it will return. We have relocated the Company at:

Thanks for the update Larry,

As you know, there are lots of SL6 owners out there (Chrysler only made a little over 12 million SL6 engines).

Sounds like you have your hands full with a lot of changes at Clifford. Do you still have Phil and John on your staff? Who is handling new product development and managing the foundries, machine shops and headers manufacturers (subcontractors)?

Just remember this simple business concept that great service, top quality parts, at a fair price is the formula to success. All the Inline engine owners (not just Slant Six) are pretty focused on getting the right parts at a fair price and every American consumer wants the stuff right now. This is not an easy thing to do, but it is possible and the business / businessperson who can do it will be successful.

Best of luck on your efforts, Keep us posted on the changes and your progress at Clifford.

I just wanted to chime in to say how pleased I am to hear that Clifford Performance is alive and well. When I built my brother's 258 AMC back in the early 80's, it was Clifford Performance that supplied the headers ,intake, valve cover, etc. It is the engine that everyone remembered about this Jeep Commando. It ran like a bear. My brother never abused the Jeep, but the guy he sold it to did. This engine went through Dana 44's like popcorn. Last I heard, the engine was still alive and well in a CJ.

When my 16 year old son asked me to build a /6 "like Uncle Rob's 258", my first call was to Clifford. It is my sincere hope that this /6 will be even better than the old AMC.

Hang in there, and best wishes in building the business.

Gilly

To keep you up to date Doug. I no longer work at Clifford's. I left in June to pursue better options elsewhere as well as other reasons which I will not air here, but most people (the guys at Fordsix.com) know well. John has not worked there for over 3 years, and Jay was let go about 3 months after Jack died last Dec.5

If you need cooling products let me know as I now work for Perma-Cool in Ontario, CA
