I've noticed on the web that there are times that racers will chip in and sponser a race at a race track.. How does that work and what does that entail?? Is it to sponser racers in a certain group so they can race or what?? Just curious.. :) Thanks...

As far as I know, all the money that is given to sponsor a race just goes into the payout for the race. At each race someone decides how the payouts will be made. For instance, at Mason Dixon last year, I put all the money from the Tee shirt sales into the payout. Lou gave money to sponsor the race as well. The day of the race we sat down and figured how much the payout would be. I guess technically I was in charge of deciding the payout, but I felt better getting input from Lou and some others. Each race may be run slightly different, but that is the general idea.
