Post subject:  holley 1945 dashpot bracket

anybody know a part # of, and/or a vendor where I can get a dashpot bracket for a 1945?

I'm looking to eliminate the idle stop solenoid it was originally equipped with.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Bump!

Any part number? Are they still available?

I'll need one of those brackets (and dashpot) to put on the NOS Holley 1945 economaster that will replace the $#!+ incomplete carb I currently have in my van!

Tried to contact Old Car parts Northwest, no answer so far...
Any other ideas?

Holley still offers Dashpots similar in nature to the ones seen on the manual transmission 1920's for their 2300 and 4150/60 carbs....you might try getting a bracket for the current 2300 and modifying it for use with your carb. AFAIK on my 1976 manual transmission carbs (Feather Duster included) they didn't use a dashpot of sorts but used the vacuum actuated solenoid for emissions purposes, although this equipment is listed in the Factory Parts Catalog under "dashpot" for part name and number.

Thanks :)

Not sure that bracket could be adapted on a 1945.

Didn't that idle speed solenoid came only on manual cars with A/C?

It's not mentioned anywhere in my '77 FSM though.

Will probably try the carb without dashpot first and see how it goes...
