Anyone have input as to where to buy a new heater core for 63 dart? Haven't pulled it out yet, and maybe a radiator shop could recore it. But just in case, buying experience?? anyone?? Thanks |

Napa didn't have a listing for the 63. I'll have to pull mine out to see if it matches later A bodies. Thanks for the info. Laysons notes to check inlet and outlet tube diameters before buying. Apparently different diameters are available. |

Heater core interchange is '63-'69 A-body (Dart, Valiant, Barracuda). The '70-'72 core has all the correct dimensions, too, but its inlet pipe is 1/2" rather than 5/8" diameter, so you'd have to change the outlet nipple screwed into the cylinder head if you went with one of those, or use a step-down adaptor in that hose. The '63-'69 item should still be fairly easy to get; go searching on a year later than '63 and see what you find. Think very carefully and do a good bit of research before you decide to spend money at Layson's -- and be cautious about taking their advice, which tends to slant towards what they want to sell you rather than what is correct. Much of what they sell is not of their own manufacture; a large proportion of their product line is bought elsewhere and marked up. They're almost never the only source for a part; see here for a listing of some more reliable vendors. |

I've got a couple spare cores. The both probably should be pressure tested as they look like they leak a bit. PM me and maybe we can work something out. |
