what solid lift cam does everyone think would be good for my combo?my head is pretty much stock that has had .090 thous off. my short block is the K1 rods and wisco piston cast crank. i have 3.23 gears and a hughes 3000 stall and a super six set up and 2 1/2 exhause.i drive the car on the street and race it on weekends at my local track. it is a 69 valiant with 83/4 rearend,and i also have a 4.11 pumkin also.what does everyone think about COMP CAM kit#k64-241-4 whick is 264 duration and 440 lift??? :) .........thanks for any help.

sorry dont really know yet on the compression ratio??the head has had 090 shave off and the block is going to the machine shop friday..im am going to put the short block together and ckeck pistion hieght before i do or dont deck the block???thanks.

For a "street performance" SL6, using pump gas, you do not want to mill much off the head, with the "long rod" K1 / Wiseco combo of parts. Just a "clean-up cut" to be sure the head is flat and smooth.

Check the head's cc's before doing anything more. Let us know what you have in cc's.
My guess is w/ a .090 "cut", the chambers are in the 45 to 50 cc range.

Let's say the head chambers are at 50 cc's, you use a thick head gasket and have the K1 / Wisco parts with a 3.504 bore size and use a cam that has a 70 degree ABDC intake closing point...
The calculator says: 11.08 stactic compression & 8.4 DCR
That is pretty "spicy" for street use w/ 3.23 gears.
It is "just about right" for track use & lower gears.
