Just got one. Is the choke pocket special? This was off a truck. Not sure if it is original to the truck.

Super Six factory exhaust manifolds should have a choke pocket that has an open rear "wall'.
These exhaust manifolds are pretty common.

Yep that is what I have. Are they the same as the 1bbl ones of that era?

Thanks!

rugtrucker, Is this an original exhausts manifold? I know it's hard to tell but if it's not warped and screwed and other ways they can be messed up, I might be interested.

AFAIK it is original. I probably have more than one. If this is the same as an A body unit? I have one off a van too.

I will get a better look at it this weekend.

What was/is the original bolt/screw size for those choke pockets?

Thanks,

Just an eyeball guess would be 1/4" (normally a 7/16th head size) if it takes a 1/2" to remove most USUALLY its a 5/16th bolt size. That said someone that knows will surely say...

and as a side note:

ALTHOUGH that is NOT set in stone either, I have seen 1/2" headed bolts on a 3/8th's (normally a 9/16) and combos of the smaller sizes the same way. Depending on application and space requirements....

AFAIK they are the same for all slants. Just the year models change and the choke pocket. You have to have the matching choke for the year model manifold you are using. I think yours is the newest they made and the only one being reproduced now.
