My truck is an 86 and it still has the original engine, I'm not sure if the previous owner would have ever done this adjustment but I want to make sure it is taken care of if in fact it needs it. Thank you.

If it is an 86 truck with the original motor it will have hydraulic lifters and will not need a valve lash adjustment.
