Recently put on the 2bbl. Happens to be a BBD 318 carb so as of now I have no choke.. Lots of fun with it snowing outside.

Its idling around 1000 to 1100. The idle screw is backed out completely however I noticed a gap so turning the throttle lever counterclockwise (with a small amount of force) dropped it down to 800-875 RPM..

Return spring isnt HUGE but it works well for driving. Carb just wont shut.
Throttle cable is loose enough that it is not holding it back from shutting
