Okay so here are a couple of pictures of a camshaft I want to use as a core for a regrind. Does this look like damage and if so does it look to far gone? This is 2 different spots. ![]()

If you ask for something fairly radical, those will be gone after they reduce the base circle and put the steeper lobe on the core...(how do you like 250@.050?) -D.Idiot |

250 sounds a bit radical for this build. I am more in the 236-240 range this time around. Want this to be a streeter. |

That amount of wear is common on a high mileage SL6 cam and it will "grind-out". More important is wear on the fuel pump eccentric, most regrinders do not like to regrind the FP eccentric so any wear there is a problem. DD |

Could You chuck it up in a lathe and Do the Fuel Pump eccentric by your self with some Emery cloth?More important is wear on the fuel pump eccentric, most regrinders do not like to regrind the FP eccentric so any wear there is a problem. DD Greg |
