Mocking up t5 .. I have a od4spd bell housing its too deep for the t5 and a spacer would be worse .. is the aluminum 3spd housing shorter in length form engine surface to tranny face ???? ThNks

Nope. Input shaft lengths are the same so the bell depth is the same.

If you had a 1968-1987 crankshaft installed you can install a dakota pilot bearing as the bearing sits in the crank pocket not the crankshaft itself...this would buy back about 1/2-3/4" of input shaft length to support it.

Your sig shows a 1963, so that is TSOL unless you can have one machined up special for your application.
