Hey guys i have a 1970 ECS system i believe its called my gas tank has four hoses that are connected to a vapor.liquid seperator and one of the lines runs from the canister to the engine bay.. My question is i have a 2280 Holley carb with a purge that gasoline drips out of ever so often can i connect that purge to the line that runs from my vapor/liquid separator canister???

Dan,

Just curious......on the top photo on the Allpar.com link the actual purge line from the top of the carb is not hooked up but capped off. Is that the way the system was plumbed pre-73? On my 74 all three lines are connected.

On the newer unit that you recommend as a replacement for the older three port canisters, are the fittings clearly marked to where they go or does it come with an instruction sheet?

Thanks for the additional information.

No, it's how the system is plumbed if the engine is equipped with a carburetor that does not have an external bowl vent (or if someone ignorant has jumped into the engine bay with a rabid mission to remove hoses and lines because "Emissions crap I'm gonna remove it huhuhuhuh").

The ports are labelled on the new canister.
