Wanting to install 3.23/7.25 in my GT, have doner from a 66 270 that was rebuilt about 5 years ago and driven with no problems until car was totaled 3 years ago. Question is, this rear has been sitting for 3 years not used, appreciate any advice on how to return it to service short of a complete rebuild. kept lubed and does not leak and all seals appear in good shape will need to remove from the wrecked doner which has no dammage past the drivers door

I'd at least pull the rear cover and visually inspect the gearset to make sure the portion of the gears that has not been covered by oil has not rusted. This will give you a chance to put in some fresh oil too.

I would visually inspect the brakes and drums for rust, leaks due to dry seals, etc.

After that, bolt it up.
