When I installed my drive shaft, the tranny was empty of fluid. Can I pull the drive shaft with the tranny full, does fluid pour out, should I drain the tranny first? I have a drain plug on my tranny pan.

thanks all.

Brian

You will lose some fluid if you pull the driveshaft, but of the torque converter stays full it won't be much.

If you jack the rear axle up and put on stands, and leave the front tires on the ground or close to it, you won't lose as much fluid the tilt will keep most of fluid toward the front of the tranny...

Yep, jack it up from the rear. I've taken the drive shaft and speedo gear unit out and lost less then a spoon or so of fluid.
