Anyone know the shaft dimensions for a '67 converter. I know they differ from '68 and up. My tranny guy needs to know because he may have a spare in the shop and wants to send it out to be done for me.

If my memory serves me well, the early "small shaft" has a 3/4 diameter with "course" 18 spline, the later one is a 7/8 dia with a "fine" 24 spline nose.

I've called Midwest and will be getting their 10 inch converter. Will my car which idles at 1100-1200 rpm, be able to idle in gear with their 3000 stall?

Your car will idle OK at 1200 with a 3000 stall, although it may still jerk a little when you put it in gear. Incidentally, unless you are running a huge cam, or low compression with a big cam, you should be able to advance the initial timing (decrease mech advance "throw" in the dist) to get a smoother and lower idle.

Might want to pull your '67 trans and see if it has the small or big input shaft. I know the trans changed in '66 to no rear pump and standard slip yoke, so they may have also changed to the large input shaft.
