do I need a new speedo? I replaced the cable that the guy that I bought it from threw in, but the speedo does not register... any help wouod be appreciated...

It sounds like you have a bad speedometer...probably a stripped gear in the head or a broken shaft. They can be repaired, but you can probably find a working unit for much less than a repair would cost.

is it something I could try to fix myself? I am going to do the voltage limiter for the other gauges...
