Hers a pic Andy!

In Preparation for our annual trip south I have done some EFI tuning with mileage in mind.

I chose the same 22 mile run...in both directions. I tried to stay on the target speed.
The route has some climbs and twistys.

Results:
50 MPH> 24.5 MPG
60 MPH> 23 MPG
70 MPH> 21 MPG
80 MPH> 19 MPG

An all-out 60 mile dash (Ferry to Revelstoke and return) some 100 MPH dashes,,,,lots of grades and passing. 17MPG.

4500lb car.....16 second ETs... 240hp

Cool. What tuning software / controller are you running in that beauty?

Very nice results, Sandy. Thanks for measuring and sharing! The aero can't be too terrible if you getting those numbers. Did you ever do a similar test with your Buick wagon?

Good thing you have the bike rack installed for your personal mpg trials :-)

Greg: http://www.dynamicefi.com/ is the hardware supplier

The tuning software is http://www.tunerpro.net

Lou: I am getting slightly better mileage than the LT1 Buick wagons. Im happy enough with my aero considering the Buicks have a CD of .33. I suspect my DeSoto frontal area is smaller.

My aero work consists of an airdam and partial bellypan under the front bumper,,,,a partial grille blockoff and closing all redundant openings in the front of the car. The rear has a partial diffuser under the rear bumper.

All aero work diminished wind noise and improved mileage.

No bike rack for mileage tests.

Thanks for sharing the pics and info regarding your efficiency and performance.
It's awesome to see great cars like that still on the road performing just as well as their modern-day counterparts.

All hail aerodynamic mods. I need to do more of those on my cars. Thanks again, Sandy.
