I was reading about Dodge trucks a while back and was surprised to find out (but then I got to looking at it and it made perfect sense) that the old show car/Hot Wheels Deora was based on an A100 w/ a slant six.

The /6 is mentioned as being "modified" but I've never really seen particulars beyond dual exhaust. Can anybody give me more info?

:?: :?: :?:

curiously yrs,

Joe

This article, based on an interview with the car's builder, indicates that the engine was bone stock, moved rearward 15" from it's original mounting position and run thru a 3-speed, Hurst floor-shifted, manual gearbox:

They bulit a modell of this truck several years ago and I have picked up sevearl of them just to get the slant out of them to swap into other models. It's a nicely detailed little engine considering that you can hardly see it once the model is built.

I read that article, too, but for some reason thought that the /6 got modified. Must not have been too hot of a rod, eh?

Still a very cool custom,

Joe

Have a full write up on this thing. And it was bone stock with the exception of some extrodenarily long upper/lower hoses between radiator and engine. Forget how much this increased coolant capacity and was one of the achiles heels of the design as the stock water pump could not push the coolant through the block at sufficient volume to prevent overheating... Good stuff to know, Dave. Where did you get the write up--I'm wondering where I could find a copy.

Thanks,

Joe
