Bought a cool '64 wagon that has a Clifford intake and headers. No carb. I have been doing a lot of searching on the topic, but there are still some questions I would like answers to.

1. What is the BEST carb for a Clifford manifold?

2. I have a BBD, but adapters for the intake are Weber size. Would like to stay w/ BBD

3. Will a BBD flow enough for the Clifford intake to work properly?

4. Will a 4-2 carb adaptor work on the Clifford?

5. Any advice on Redline Webers?

Thanks for your expertise,

Joe

The TransDapt or Mr. Gasket 2 to 4 bbl adapter plates from the parts store or Summit should work, maybe with a little filing out of holes to bolt the Clifford. That will allow bolt up of your BBD. That is a great carb and will work fine with the Clifford. That's what I would do, assuming no other internal engine mods (or mild ones).

Thanks, Lou. That was what I was looking for.

Sure. Make sure you hook up a working kickdown linkage to the trans. The cable kits from Lokar or similar work pretty well for this. With the clifford intake, you will likely not be able to use the factory kickdown linkage, or will need to work to adapt it. As a stopgap, you can wire or zip tied the kickdown lever on the trans back about 2/3 of the way through its travel. If you do not hook it up at all, you will likely burn up the clutches in your transmission! If you have a manual transmission, you are good to go.

Will do w/ those linkages.
