Well.... summer is on the way out and this weekend ( Sept 20 & 21 ) will be our last race at Woodburn Race Track for the year.
Leaving today to set up camp and have some adult beverages and burgers. Not sure of the turnout but rain or shine we will have fun camping at the track.

It seems that somehow, I ended up being the camp chef. So Stan, I am assuming you don't want me to burn the hamburgers !!

As far as racing goes, it will be fun no matter who wins.

Sounds like fun, Dave. Wish I could be there. In my dreams, I make my 34 a little faster and run your 36 heads up at Woodburn...

Greg
this time I raced to 36 Plymouth " Valiant" Best time was a 13.69 @ 94 MPH.

We arrived Thursday afternoon to watch the streetcar race. It's unbelievable how fast some of them cars are.
One BMW was 139 MPH in the 1/4 . Tons of new Mustangs and Mopar's.

Friday was a tune and test. Think I made 6 runs.

Saturday we only had 5 cars. Richards slant six rail failed to start and had some carb problems.
Mike Bjerklund won with Doug Powers coming in second.
As far as Dave, I either cut a horrible light or tunned on the big red light bulb.
That night several adult beverages and lots of food to eat.

Sunday morning, we woke up to rain and more rain. WB canceled the race, so we just stayed and camped the rest of the weekend.

Monday morning the sun was out, we packed up and had a nice drive home.

All in all, it was a fun weekend at my favorite place to camp....and sometimes race...

Man, great times. I can picture it all... Been watching some old Portlandia with Victoria - now I see how y'all think out there!

BTW, Dave, do you happen to have a reliable measurement for the OD of the late crank register? Should be around 2.158-2.159" but thought you might have a solid number on that from a reliable source or with a good micrometer?

Oh, I might be out your way after a Dept of Energy meeting on Jan 21-22 in Seattle. Will see what I can make work.

Lou
