I was wonderng what the correct/best way to adjust my kickdown linkage in my 62 Valinent? It no longer kicks down and the shifts seem lazy, it's all the way in 3rd by the time I'm through an intersection. Help! I tried spining it a couple times each way but it didn't chane any thing.

I recommend making the rod as long as it can be and still allow the carb to reach WOT without binding. If the upshift speed at that adjustment is to high for your liking, back it off in small increments and test drive until you are satisfied.
