When setting timing and curb idle, which port on a non emissions Holley 1920 is the best port to read for vacum? While I'm at, how about on a Carter BBD as well?

Thanks

You want to read manifold (not ported) vaccum. I haven't ran a carb in a long time so I couldnt describe a specific port to you, but I can say that the line leading to the PCV is manifold vaccum so that would be a surefire ticket. If you have a power brake booster, the line going to that will work as well.

If your car doesn't have power brakes, there will be a pipe plug in the #6 intake runner that you can remove and put a spigot in its place. I just do this out of habit; the Toyota 4Y engine wouldn't run the same with the PCV valve unplugged and I couldnt get an accurate reading. Taking your reading in the plugged runner allows you to keep everything else intact.

You can use the vacuum port on the carburetor that your choke pull off line goes to.
