I couldn't find any info on this forum about hooking up a 3 wire alternator, only a one wire. Can anyone help me? Alt. is a 12SI 94amp 3:00 position. And yes, we will be upgrading all of the wiring.

The 12SI is a GM Delco unit, not a Chrysler unit.

There is a two wire plug on the side, one with a yellow or white wire, the other red. I believe the yellow wire is hooked to either the alt. output terminal or the starter cable connection at the starter, whichever is more convenient. Different cars have different connections.

The red wire should have a diode in it to prevent backfeeding, and a resistor in it. I use an 85 ohm ballast type resistor in the wire and hook the other side to the ignition terminal on the keyswitch.

Youll have to double check on the wire colors and which is which, I cant remember exactly, but I do know one goes to battery and another goes through a diode and resistor to an ignition feed. Good luck

Yeah, I am aware that it is a GM alternator. Its easy to find, cheap as hell, and puts out 94 amps.

Where is the "alt. output terminal" you are talking about?
