WHAT KIND OF INCREASE DO YOU THINK A 100 SHOT OF NITROUS WOULD MAKE IN A 1/8TH OF MILE RUN ON A BUILT MOTOR WITH A CAR THAT IS PRESENTLY RUNNING 7.96. |

My guess is about .5 to .7 IF you hit the NOS right off the starting line and IF doing that does not blow the tire-off. Do you have good traction? DD |

Got you to thinking huh Norm! Most of the guys I have seen are right in line with what Doug said.(Some pick up more) With your ladder bar set-up you should have a good enough suspension to handle it. How much adustment do you have on your set-up? Are you planning on running a timer? If so you could delay the hit for a fraction of a sec and help matter even more. Tune the car up and you might be surprised where it would be with a 100 shot. Tom |

No Timer on the Car Tom. I may also look at changing from a 4:56 to a 5:13 gear. I am just fooling around to try and get the most I can out of this new set up. Probably the best thing I could do is lose about 100 lbs of weight myself. I am still worried about putting the nitrous set up on my engine after the problem i had with blowing a head gasket. My clearance is real close and had to change valve setting to 22 so they dont touch the pistons. Will a small shot of nitrous be dangerous on a engine with the clearance this close. The pistons are from J & E and made for nitrous according to the guy who put the specs together for the engine. |
