I'll be there. But not with my 74 Duster. It's still in pieces and hasn't been touched. The mental giants at the junkyard are still getting the wiring installed for their new MIG welder.

And then my Duster would need to have all the metal parts welded in.

Then paint it.

Then swap the whole drivetrain / exhaust from my old 1971 Valiant.

And somehow come up with an extra $200 for a new clutch assembly.

In short, it ain't gonna happen soon, if at all this year again.

I was thinking of bringing my Mini-DV camera and shooting some video of /6 cars to be made into an episode of my webshow ( www.loudmouthtim.com ).

Anyone want to have their car in a video on the internet?

My Valiant will be sporting a temporary 8.75 with a 3.90 sure grip for the weekend borrowed from my brother in law who is going to tow it out there on his trailer behind his 03 hemi Ram 3/4 ton 4X4 just to watch me race.
some brothers in law are actually cool.

I'm still planning to come. But ,we probably won't have our dart there either. Still a possibility but not sure.

Anyone out that way should do what they can to make this event.
This is the first year for this race and it would be cool to get some Slants there to run the class. A good turn-out is key to doing future SL6 races at this event.

I think I have everything but a muffler. LOL

My car rolls, but the motor is sitting in the driveway needing the head mounted and some other gaskets and things. The 904 transmission is old, untested and bone stock. I can't even guess if it will take the power I hope to get from a ported super six. I got a used, professionally ported, finished head that's shaved .06
The rear is a stock 7 1/4 of unknown ratio and I know it isn't positraction. Brakes need bleed, but shoes looked good. It'd be one hell of a trial by fire to build and race by the 24th of this month.

If I could get some free time to put it together, can I race a newly PA titled car with VA inspection stickers? Will they give me the brush off at the track?

I also need a driver. I would really love to do it myself, but I can't believe I want to learn the lights and rules at the biggest race of the year.

Well that's the situation, I thought I was going on vacation that weekend, but plans changed and now I'm going the weekend before (which makes the schedual even tighter) and comming back tuesday or wednesday. I'll be at the track on Saturday for sure, so I hope to meet up with anyone who's going.

Could I run my slant six truck?? It's an 85 with a 225 and a 727. It's a dog off the line, but it's a strong runner, and I wouldn't mind giving that a go, if all else fails. Some folks might get a good laugh at the paint though.

Are some of you guys chasing down the points coming to this race? I'd like to meet you and your cars there.

I'm not really interested in points, this is the only "slant six racing series race" I can make it to.

The motor is in, but NOTHING is connected yet. We had a couple of snags, (like the hole burned through the oil pan at the junkyard  ) but it finally gave up and went in.

That's my cousin Ben posing with the motor.

Unless something goes badly with the wiring or fuel system, We just might give someone a run for their money. :P

I'll be there, but not with my car  .. The short block is together, but the head is still on the workbench being ported, and I need to find decent 4 speed until I get my 5 speed finished..... I met 70 Valiant this past weekend at Carlisle, he is a cool guy, I'll be rooting for him... Look for me Tall lanky dude with a Leaning Tower of Power T-shirt 8) Good Luck everyone, hopefully next year I'll have a respectible showing, the car is only about 1.5 years behind schedule right now lol Take care, Dan

Hey Dan, bring $250 with you and you'll drive home with a 2.66 low gear close ratio A-833 iron case 4 speed with Hurst shifter (NOT the OD shifter), shifter rods, and a /6 bellhousing. Another $30 if you need a flywheel. I have a 17 pound and a 26 pound flywheel.

Email me at loudmouthtim@hotmail.com if interested.
