Here is the original setup. <A HREF="
http://www.slantsix.com/UBB/Forum16/HTM ... 07.html</A> Since then, the motor/trans has been put in a '66 Valiant 2 door post car. I have also added an Offy intake and a 390 Holley, worth .5 and 4 mph over a Super Six setup, a 3000 stall converter, and it now has 3.55 gears behind it instead of 3.91's.
Since I put it into the '66, I have discovered that the motor was running with only 24* total timing. I have bumped it up to 34*
I added a 1" spacer under the carb. Worth a tenth.
I put a Summit exhaust dump in the exhaust system. That has been worth about .15 and 1mph.
Put the '72 Demon scoop off the Duster on. It's not sealed to the hood, but still seems to be working.
From the first day I ran this motor to last week, I was doing these 4 things 1 week at a time. The result was that even though the weather was getting worse, the car was not slowing down. Then, last night when we had some decent weather, it picked up .3 and 2 mph. Later! Dennis
