Thanks for the pictures and input. We just got a mill and lathe over the last couple months. In my free time I'm going to attempt to build some of the stuff I need and make a couple extra's to disperse among the slant world. I just finished a supercharger manifold, and will hopefully tackle some pistons over spring break.

You might mike a few pistons like around the skirt you should find, they are not round but are oval in dimensions.

Yeah, that was interesting at first. But it makes more sense as their is more meat at the pin location so there will be less deformation (sp?). So, since we just got the mill this project looks a little bit more feasible. The other idea is to make a cope and drag set-up with our small foundry. We can melt about 50lbs of aluminum, so I figure we can easily do 6 pistons. Anymore ideas would be great. Does anyone know any complications of melting the hypereurtic aluminum? I've kinda heard of using 6061 for pistons which is probably what I use for the first billet run.
