What plugs do you recommend for a '66 225? I am currently bringing my mother's Dart back to life. Going thru carb Carter BBD, Fuel pump, Distributor. It has Autolites in it -They look good but I want everything fresh when I put it back together. I thought I read somewhere the washer on the plug should be removed if the motor has the Oil tubes around the plug. Is this correct & why? [/img]

Anything but Autolites. Seriously, for some reason, they just do not ignite anything. I have great success with Champion or denso... champion now makes a truck plug and a heavy duty plug that should last a long time. Dunno if they make it for the SL6, though. My next attempt at plugs is to check out E3's and / or Halo plugs.

Welcome 66. There is a gold mine of information on this site. If you have time, check out the general-info articles, and also the FAQ's at the top of each section.
