Five weeks to go... I'm tempted to leave the Duster NA and just tune on it till then - but Lou is challenging me to a turbo duel ;)

Track is open this weekend - would like to get out there with the Neon but the son is working, and for some reason he won't give me the keys.

I would rather you leave it NA and make it there running in good tune! There will be time for turbo later. I've been working on my kit off and on for at least 6 yrs...

Lou

I hear you Lou - it could end up that way. I spent all day yesterday chasing it. I wanted to to be running right before going to the exhaust guy. At this date I may well wait and see what it does NA.

I didn't regret missing the track so much after all this weekend - wind over 40 MPH on Saturday... would have been a headwind too.

Mike wanted me to remind everyone that the Best Western by I-80 is the "host" motel for this event. There are 2 others in Kearney, but they don't really have space to park trailers.

Broke the car today on the first time run at RT 66. Appears to me to be broken tabs on the converter, no motion at all from the trans.

Converter is on the way from Mike, I have a spare trans, not sure if I have the ambition to fix it though. :(

You can do it, Big D. I hope to finish turbo install on '68 next week and get it tuned before driving down from MN. We'll see!

Fix it Dennis, would like to meet you. Lou, you are making me feel like a slug on that turbo. Spent a day tuning it, fuel and spark, and it runs pretty good now. I'll take the time to fix some nagging glitches before the race.

For everyone planning to attend Kearney in a couple weeks...

Please remember to take lots of high resolution photos and take notes so we can put together an article for the Slant Six Racing News!

We need to know who's there, who raced who, ET/speed, who won, all the cool human interest and funny stuff we all like to read...

You can email everything to SSRN01@gmailcom and we'll put it together fer ya! :D

Now that you guys are running SSRN, I think I can write an article. Would be great if everyone can help me take pics, though.

Thanks!

Lou

Got a heavy box from Nebraska today and the car is in the garage. I'm pulling the trans tonight.

Mike called tonight with a reminder about the hotel. It is the Best Western, 308/234-2541. Tell them you are with the gang for the racetrack and you should get a cheaper rate. :D
