Yes you could or orange/bronze RTV...but you should be able to install the pump strictly with the gaskets it came with if you cleaned the block mating surface. Are you reinstalling a used or previously installed pump?

p.s. when installing make sure to get the hose the head the right length and install first with hose clamps before installing the pump itself...

D, My new wp does have the gaskets and I was going to put a little bit on each side. Am I right or wrong?

It's not needed, but if you are going to make them stick to keep them in place for a quick installation (less to 'juggle'), go for it, it won't hurt your install.

I used rtv on the block side because of corrosion pits. The rest was dry.

I use grease,helps seal and makes removeing them later a breeze,no stuck gaskets to scrape.Guzzi Mark
