I am trying to figure out what I have here. It's a '63 Valiant convt. slant 6.
The stamping below the # 1 plug reads:T22 11 08 2.
The stamping on the side if the block reads:2202857-4.
The vin# on the registration reads: 1432537669.
I don't understand why there are 3 different numbers.

The one on the pad is for the factory to stamp for date of manufacture, type and use of the engine.

The casting on the drivers side of the block is the part number you will find in the parts catalog.

To match with the VIN, you will be looking for the stamped machined pad on the passenger side of the block just above the oil pan rail... it will have some of the VIN numbers (like last 6 or 8 or so depending on year of vehicle).

The tranny will also have part of the VIN stamped on it as well and location will vary depending on an automatic vs. manual tranny.

Good Hunting.

225 engine manufactured on Nov 8th 1962 I will give you the vin break down later when I am at home. Take a magnet to the block and see if its aluminum. Give us the info off the fender tag on the drivers side inner fender.
