Hi guys, more questions for 904 disassembly.
I am trying to remove the tail shaft but for my 63 which uses the trunnion there is a flange which needs to be removed. I have a 1 1/16" socket which is too small for the nut. Can anyone confirm the size of the nut, 1 1/8" or 1 3/16"?
Also the service manual refers to a funky tool, C-3381, to hold the flange so it does not rotate. Looks like I can use some angle iron with a couple of holes drilled in it to hold the flange to prevent rotation. Anyone had to confront this?
Thanks folks.

Yeah, I just did as you said, a piece of scrap metal with two holes, worked fine.
